Wedding Reception Flower
Arrangements
With the enormous
amount of planning involved with a wedding, it is easy to
overlook the impact certain features may have on the
overall ambiance of your event. Wedding reception flower
arrangements are one of the primary focal points of a
reception and are a great opportunity to be creative and
original. It is also very helpful to have a few ideas in
mind as well as information in hand before heading to
your floral designer.
What Flowers
are Needed for a Wedding
Reception
While typically
floral arrangements are used for table centerpieces,
there are several additional areas that should also have
a decorative arrangement including the cake table, head
table, guest sign in table, seating arrangement card
table and potentially the gift table as well. You may
have additional areas that need some decorative touches
depending on your reception location so it could be
helpful to understand what the site will provide for you
on buffet or dessert tables or in guest lounging
areas.
If your budget is
tight you can sometimes re-use arrangements from your
wedding service if it is held in a different location
from your reception. Some church locations have an
expectation that the flowers will remain for weekend
services so be sure to check ahead of
time.
Creative
Flower Arrangements
In the early
planning stages of a wedding, bouquets and flowers for
the wedding site are the primary focus for flower
arrangements. However, wedding reception flower
arrangements are a great opportunity to add a personal
and customized touch to your reception site. With a
variation on the classic and elegant flowers used in the
wedding ceremony, the reception site and ambiance can be
easily transformed to be more fun and even show a little
whimsy.
While you can use
strictly flowers in your arrangements, you can consider
using additional items unique to your event. Some
florists have colorful accents for your arrangements such
as artificial fruit or decorative ornaments that
coordinate with your color palette. You can also consider
using candles in your arrangements.
Floral designers
also typically have a wide range of stands, vases and
structural components to create wedding reception flower
arrangements. If you are looking to have an arrangement
that is raised off the table to allow guests to easily
see and speak with each other, there are several options
to select from.
Artificial or
Real Flowers
The quality of
artificial flowers is far better than previous artificial
flower products. Artificial flowers can also let a hands
on bride create her own arrangements ahead of time. While
a very efficient and crafty bride may be able to pull off
creating the arrangements with live flowers prior to the
event date, it would be far more difficult and consuming
during a time that should be spent
celebrating.
Wedding reception flower arrangements
are a great opportunity to show some creativity. Planning
the flower arrangements to reflect personalities or to
set the mood for an event will create a memorable evening
for you as well as your guests.
