Bride Speeches

Bride SpeechesIt’s your big day and on top of everything else you had to plan, pick and prepare there is still one more item that you need to think about, your speech. It’s traditional for the bride to stand up and give a welcoming speech or a thank you speech to acknowledge everyone who helped contribute to making the day a success and for coming to celebrate their joyous with her and her groom. The speech is usually done after the maid of honor and best man toasts however you can change the ordering as you see fit, some brides like to make their speech right after the grand entrance and just get it over with so they don’t have to think about it any longer and can enjoy the rest of the reception stress free. There are lots of things you can mention in your speech but these are the most important items that should never be forgotten.

Thanks to parents
You should always thank the parents or those who helped you planned the wedding and supported and raised you whether that is your aunt and uncle or grandparents or others. They have been there for you through everything and deserve a special moment to be honored and appreciated in front of everyone they know. Make your gratitude known by saying a simple thank you.

Thanks to guests
All these people have come here on to watch you get married and celebrate your special day. Think about it, they gave up their time and spent money to see you become the happiest woman in the world, when they could have done a million other things with their day. Thank them for choosing to be with you and share this time with you.

Acknowledgement of wedding party
Those men and women who stood by you as you said “I do” and have been there to plan parties for you and help you with every little detail when you needed them, remember them? Although you’ve already most likely thanked them and given them gifts (at the rehearsal dinner) it’s nice to still come back and say thank you again as the big day is finally here.

Display of love to husband
The man you married and will spend the rest of your life with is sitting right beside you, make sure you include him in your speech even if it’s just to say “we” thank everyone. He’ll catch it and appreciate even the smallest of gestures. Or give him a nice kiss, look or wink to know he’s the main focus of your day, not just throwing a party.

Enthusiasm and excitement
You just got married! I sure hope you’re excited and full of happiness. Show it! Don’t hold back. It’s a beautiful thing to see a bride that is full of joy and just beaming with pride and love. You should be so happy you can’t even begin to contain your excitement.
